It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—I have come to do your will, my God.’ ”
And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:4-7; 10 (NIV)
There are a world of distractions all around us right now. There are real life issues pressing in tight. Today I ask for grace to remember. My own selfish desire is to let the pieces of a broken world clamor loudly in the chamber of my heart. But then, there is the shadow of the cross over me.
To soak in the stillness; I pray for a renewed mind and heart.
The day of the cross when Perfect and Holy took upon Himself iniquity and guilt. He bore the unthinkable and He took on wrath; an offering of sacrifice that covers all guilt, all shame, all that is broken, and all that is decay. It was an act of redeeming love and an act of mercy flowing from the heart of God. A beautiful picture of God doing what only He could do — to fulfill what He promised through the tapestry of time as scriptures reveal. He is good because of who He is and He reveals His goodness in what He does. We have much to be thankful for and revel in, that there is a God who was not only willing, but was able.
I pray for this to be the overflow of my heart and life, always.
